Dr. Hamed Mirzaei** is a scientist and educator at the University of Southern California studying the genetics and biology of aging, including aging-related diseases like diabetes and heart failure. He developed a course titled, “The Public Understanding of Science,” which he teaches at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. Hamed has made science and evidence-based education a priority in his life, and subsequently founded the Hamed Mirzaei Foundation for Arts & Sciences, a 501(c)3 public charity that aims to promote a more science aware community. HMF hosts monthly science talks for the local community under the banner Byte of Science.
