Everyone in the tech space is very excited by the emergence of what are called ““unicorns”” - basically, startups that are worth $1 bn or more. This has made for a lot of frothy discussions, breathless editorials and wildly inflated expectations.
I think it’s much more interesting to talk about rhinos.
Now, I’m not talking about the ugly, rugged creature that may have been the origin for the mythical unicorn… I’m talking about startup companies that have developed staying power, that have taken a few hits but still continue to rumble forward in their quest for business success.
They may not be as sexy, but they might actually be a much better model for those seeking innovation success.
