Sending a robotic mining device to an asteroid; mining and chemically processing the material and making propellant and structural materials available in Earth orbit; building a vast (many square kilometer) solar-energy gathering array in space and building an even larger solar=energy gathering array on the Moon, in order to provide Earth with abundant energy.
