Ross Bochnek is an alchemist, cybernetician, Kabbalist, philosopher, writer, educator, artist, designer, consultant, stage and media arts specialist, and green entrepreneur. He holds a BFA in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts, and an MFA in Design and Technology of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Computing. Ross realizes that while Alchemy and Cybernetics are both typically misunderstood, guided by his True Self, he researches their histories and builds logical and intuitive bridges between them. The ancient, philosophical roots of cybernetics inform his humanistic interpretation of the exogenous man-machine of the Cyborg. Through ancient consciousness arts, introspective techniques, and the physical and metaphysical environment of the Cosmos, Ross deconstructs Pop Culture’s “futuristic” bias towards literally mechanistic and invasive technologies for human transformation. Published in the Alchemy Journal, he was an exhibitor and presenter at the 2009 International Alchemy Conference on the concept of Interactive Activation, and is honored to be invited back to their 2011 Conference, at the Long Beach Convention Center on “Alchemy of the Cyborg”.
